Training Development and Outreach Coordinator

JOB TYPE: Full Time

REPORTS TO: Victim Services Director
SALARY RANGE: $21.69 - $42.49

SUMMARY:
The Victim Services Training and Development Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, tracking, and evaluation of all training related to Victim Services. Will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs focused on addressing the needs and challenges faced by victims of crime within tribal communities. This role will involve collaborating with victim service providers, outside entities and community stakeholders to develop culturally sensitive and trauma-informed training materials. This role will also be responsible for delivering these trainings, ensuring the effective transfer of knowledge and skills to enhance the capacity of tribal victim service providers.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate degree in business administration, criminal justice, public relations, human services, or related field, with three (3) or more years of experience in victim services, or training environment preferred OR
• Three (3) years of demonstrated experience in designing, implementation, and facilitation of training courses.
• Victim service experience preferred.
• Completion of 40 hours of Advocate training must be completed within 90 days of hire.
• At least two (2) years of experience facilitating in front of large groups is required.
• Must be familiar with functional areas of Victim Services including staffing, victim relations, and safety concerns.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and Tribal Government laws, codes, and regulations.
• At least one (1) year of experience working with the Native American community, including knowledge and respect for Native American culture.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe or equivalent to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs preferred.
• Experience in the development or delivery of web-based or online training programs.
• Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills required.
• Must possess strong skills in training development, curriculum design, course facilitation, course evaluation, and needs assessment.
• Ability to effectively design training programs, materials, and activities to engage participants.
• Ability to effectively prepare and write reports, memos, and email correspondence.
• Ability to work effectively with and establish relationships with the Mille Lacs Band departments.
• Must have a current valid driver’s license.
• Must be insurable under the Mille Lacs Band Drivers Insurance policy.
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop training materials, lesson plans, and training aids related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Update existing materials and procedures as policies and band statutes change.
• Collaborates on writing, reporting, and contracts as it pertains to training programs and activities.
• Responsible for creating a training calendar and collaborating with department Supervisors and Management participation.
• Develop and implement an ongoing training plan for the Victim Services staff.
• Secure training room, set up and take down, copying participant handout information.
• Facilitates training programs and workshops for the community, employees, and leadership.
• Maintain records, surveys and prepare reports detailing participation.
• Collects feedback on training sessions from employees to use for future improvements to content and presentation.
• Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of training, report that assessment to the Victim Services Director, and revise programs as necessary.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
