SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $123,000

SUMMARY:
In collaboration with the Health Services Director, the Associate Director will lead clinical quality and program strategies to ensure proper client/family care is being provided. In collaboration with the Health Services Director this position will provide ongoing clinical staff development and supervision, program planning, growth, development and sustainment. Collaboration with other service areas is a vital component in this role. This role is responsible for the daily operations and management of clinic and homecare services.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate’s degree in nursing required, preferred fields include Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or a related field.
• Leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
• Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, preferably Epic, and data management tools.
• Knowledge of healthcare planning concepts, principles and practices with emphasis on building and maintaining a system of integrated care.
• Ability to provide clinical guidance, and support to clinical staff within areas of specialty.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment to meet program outcomes.
• Ability to establish rapport and gain the confidence of the members of the patient care team, clients, and associates.
• Knowledge of applicable Mille Lacs Band statutes, Federal and State laws, rules, regulations, and policies relating to services related to HHS services and programs.
• Ability to effectively plan, direct, and coordinate clinical services for the population served.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and delegation skills.
• Ability to lead and coordinate clinical program planning, implementation, and management.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, policies and quality assurance standards.
• Knowledge of the resources available inside and outside the Mille Lacs Band that can be used to enhance health care.
• Familiarity with and sensitivity to culture and tradition of the Mille Lacs Band.
• Commitment to multi-cultural programming.
• Ability to teach the highest level of ethics and confidentiality, with respect to maintain quality assurance and integrity of the programs.

• Must have current valid driver’s license.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Delegate and coordinate activities of clinical staff in the provision of direct patient care.
• Support oversight of nursing staff, clinic support staff, programing and operations.
• Support development, review, and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and competencies.
• Support employee onboarding, staff education, and training coordination.
• Support HR in accident investigations and lead all root cause analysis for post-exposure and near miss incidents.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to identify and coordinate staff training.
• Ensure adherence to clinical quality, efficiency, and regulatory standards.
• Assist with Development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure quality and efficiency in health services delivery.
• Assist with monitoring compliance with legal guidelines, internal policies and quality standards.
• Network with other Tribal, State and County agencies.
• Assist as directed, with data collection and dissemination of reports for I.H.S, Band officials, Self-Governance, Department supervisors and other agencies.
• Assist in program evaluation, grant reporting, and development of annual departmental goals.
• Maintain confidentiality of all program participants and records in compliance with Mille Lacs Band, Federal, State, statutes, laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Nature of work is such that incumbent experiences infrequent periods of moderate to high stress levels.
• Must be able to express information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information. Listens to others and responds appropriately.
• Strict adherence to patient and staff confidentiality required.
• Work is primarily indoors in a controlled environment.
• Little threat of personal danger or risk, although may be subject incumbent to periods of moderate to high stress levels.
• Hours are typically 8-5 but may also require occasional "on call' availability to cover emergency situations.
• Will involve working with diverse and varied populations in our communities.
• Local travel is required; limited out-of-state travel.
