SUMMARY:
The Clinical Manager provides direct patient care (a working manager position) and oversight of direct clinical services for the Mille Lacs Band Health Services and is responsible for the planning, implementation and management of clinical standards of performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate’s Degree in the health sciences with current licensure or certification in relevant area of study.
• Bachelors of Science or Bachelors of Art in the health sciences preferred.
• Three to five (3 – 5) years of experience in area of health sciences focus area required.
• One year of supervisory experience required.
• Experience in ambulatory care strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of the management of protected health information (PHI).
• Demonstrated understanding of ambulatory clinical theory, trends, and practice.
• Knowledge and understanding of health promotion and disease prevention.
• Knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization and administration.
• Knowledge of policies, standard and MLB statues governing HHS services and delivery.
• Knowledge of state immunization system and requirements.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to delegate and work with a team.
• Ability to effectively plan, direct and coordinate clinical services for the population served.
• Ability to lead and coordinate clinical program planning, implementation and management.
• BLS certification required (training provided).
• Experience in and sensitivity to Native American culture.
• Must have current valid driver’s license.
• Must be insurable under the Mille Lacs Band Drivers Insurance policy.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Delegate and coordinate activities of clinical staff in the provision of direct patient care.
• Provides direct oversight of D2 and D3 clinic staff and work flow processes.
• Collaborate with clinical team to review, develop and implement clinical policies and procedures and competencies.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to oversee and manage employee on-boarding and staff education requirements.
• Provide or manage the required physical evaluation programs and services to meet regulatory requirement; such as OSHA, CDC, etc.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to support HR in accident investigation and lead all root cause analysis for post-exposure incidents and near misses.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to contribute in the design of controls for injury prevention and health surveillance related to actual and potential hazards in the work environment.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to identify primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention and health promotion strategies to optimize health of the population.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to identify and coordinate staff training.
• Conduct quality assurance checks and develop a plan when deficiencies are noted.
• Support staff communication through collaborating with the clinical team to set up monthly meetings.
• Provide input for staff performance reviews.
• Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Nature of work is such that employee may experience periods of moderate to high stress levels while dealing with patients, family members, and employee issues.
• Work is exclusively indoors in a controlled climate area.
• Hours are typically 8 – 5, but possibly with some extra hours. May involve some evening or weekend working and occasionally an “on call” system covering emergency situations, and assisted living needs.
• Limited travel within the state is required.
